ICSE & ISC Year 2016 Examination Highlights and Statistics

ICSE 2016 EXAMINATIONS

  • The number of schools that presented candidates in India & Abroad for the ICSE Examination is 2,015
  • The total number of candidates who appeared for the ICSE Examination is 1,68,591
  • Number of Boys who appeared for the ICSE Examination is 92,900
  • Number of Boys passed in ICSE is 91,172
  • Number of Boys unsuccessful in ICSE is 1,728
  • Number of Girls who appeared for the ICSE Examination is 75,691
  • Number of Girls passed in ICSE is 74,885
  • Number of Girls unsuccessful in ICSE is 806
  • The pass percentage for ICSE is 98.54%.
  • Girls have done better than Boys at the ICSE Examination
  • The pass percentage obtained in the major subjects in the ICSE Examination
  • English 99.84%; Bengali 99.95%; Hindi 99.95%; History, Civics & Geography 98.58%; Mathematics 96.77%; Science 98.16%; Commercial Studies 99.22%; Economics 96.48%; Physical Education 100%; Computer Applications 99.99%; Economic Applications 99.97%; Commercial Applications 99.98%;
  • The ICSE Examination has been conducted in 63 written subjects of which 22 are Indian languages and 13 are foreign languages.
  • For ICSE in India, the Southern region has the best pass percentage i.e. 99.68% followed by the Western region (99.57%), Eastern region (98.30%) & Northern region (97.70%). Abroad, ICSE has achieved 100%.

ISC 2016 EXAMINATIONS

  • The number of schools that presented candidates in India & Abroad for the ISC Examination is 954
  • The total number of candidates who appeared for the ISC Examination is 72,069
  • Number of Boys who appeared for the ISC Examination is 38,834
  • Number of Boys passed in ISC is 37,023
  • Number of Boys unsuccessful in ISC is 1,811
  • Number of Girls who appeared for the ISC Examination is 33,235
  • Number of Girls passed in ISC is 32,498
  • Number of Girls unsuccessful in ISC is 737
  • The pass percentage for ISC is 96.56%.
  • Girls have done better than Boys at the ISC Examination
  • The pass percentage obtained in the major subjects in the ISC Examination
  • English 99.48%; Bengali 99.90%; Hindi 99.78%; Economics 86.47%; Commerce 94.20%; Accounts 93.61%; Mathematics 92.48%; Physics 97.10%; Chemistry 98.64%; Biology 98.53%; Computer Science 99.67%;
  • The ISC Examination has been conducted in 50 written subjects of which 15 are Indian languages, 6 are foreign languages and 3 are classical languages.
  • For ISC in India, the Southern Region has the best pass percentage i.e. 99.14%, followed by Western Region (97.59%), Northern Region (96.36%) and Eastern Region (95.90%). Abroad, ISC has achieved pass percentage of 100%

ICSE – SPECIAL CATEGORY STATISTICS

  • 7393 Scheduled Caste candidates took the examination, achieving a pass percentage of 97.20%
  • 5469 Scheduled Tribe candidates took the examination, achieving a pass percentage of 97.09%
  • 28970 Other Backward Classes (OBC) candidates took the examination, achieving a pass percentage of 98.36%
  • Special Difficulty cases for ICSE such as Dyslexia cases were 935 (96 candidates obtained above 90%); Visually Challenged cases were 31 (10 candidates obtained above 90%) and 5 candidates took their examinations in the Hospitals
  • The Council for the seventh year successfully conducted the centralized evaluation of answer scripts for the ICSE Examinations.
  • ICSE had 422 centralized evaluation centres across the Country.
  • The ICSE Examination Mark Sheets and Pass Certificates will reach the schools latest by 14th May 2016.

ISC – SPECIAL CATEGORY STATISTICS

  • 2463 Scheduled Caste candidates took the examination, achieving a pass percentage of 94.48%
  • 2658 Scheduled Tribe candidates took the examination, achieving a pass percentage of 92.66%
  • 7855 Other Backward Classes (OBC) candidates took the examination, achieving a pass percentage of 96.33%
  • Special Difficulty cases for ISC such as Dyslexia cases were 126 (13 candidates obtained above 90%); Visually Challenged cases were 3 (1 candidates obtained above 90%) and 3 candidates took their examinations in the Hospitals
  • The Council for the seventh year successfully conducted the centralized evaluation of answer scripts for the ISC Examinations.
  • ISC had 485 centralized evaluation centres across the Country.
  • The ISC Examination Mark Sheets and Pass Certificates will reach the schools latest by 10th May 2016.
